Have you ever watched those makeover shows where clueless women such as me are shown around by a stylist who effortlessly throw together a series of creative looks which enhance and flatter. Well here in Prague you have the opportunity to attend a workshop with one of the UK’s best known stylists Claire Ginzler. Claire has worked at London and Paris Fashion Weeks and on cult British shows How To Look Good Naked, Ten Years Younger and The Clothes Show.

After giving birth to Ari back in May I felt the need to get back to some form of exercise. Yoga has helped me so much over the years and really does give me strength both physically and mentally. So it was great timing when Prague Yoga emailed their new schedule which included a new Yoga class on Tuesdays specially catering for mums with babies aged 6 weeks right up until they start to crawl.

I have browsed the web to give you an idea of where to go with the kids in next few months. Since many events are advertised in Czech, let me help you with my difficult mother tongue. What I strongly recommend is the Dino Show. Produced by the BBC, we saw the advert for it on TV and WE ARE GOING!!! Click through to see footage from the show. Dates are 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 February.

The dinosaurs will walk the Earth again and you can be there!!!

New Clovickov II, Indoor Playground, Prague 4

Indoor Playgrounds on 03 January 2010 by Darina (1 comment)

I think I am a bit spoiled by the Clovickov Indoor Playground in Zlicin because this new Clovickov Indoor Playground in Prague 4 looks like a poor sibling in comparison. When I went to cover it I was thrilled that they had opened something indoor for kids at Budejovicka street. I thought that this important traffic hub was missing something like this.

No matter what your age, race or nationality, or whether you have lived in Prague for 1 day or 30 years, you can become a member of this many-fold association. In fact, you can even be male (but I must admit that there are not that many of those). The association was founded in 1991 and currently has over 350 members from over 35 different countries.

Holiday Wishes

on 28 December 2009 by Larissa

So these last few weeks Karen, Darina and I have been busy celebrating Christmas in our own unique way… David, Lucie, Ari and I had a White Christmas at home in Prague (at -14c) before flying to Sydney for a Beach Christmas (at 28c) with my extended family. Karen and her boys also headed to Sydney on the same day and on the same flights as us! So we were able to experience the delight of long-haul travel together, sharing our stories when transiting in Seoul before the final leg to Australia.

Here are my top 5 activities that I like to undertake with my kids in Prague during the winter months.

In the Czech Republic, the skiing seasons begins in earnest in mid-December and wraps up towards the end of March. The spa town of Janske Lazne, is located on the eastern part of the so-called Giant Mountains, which form the highest cluster of mountains in the country. It takes about 2 hours to get there by car, if you are driving from the centre of Prague.
