Restaurants and Cafes

Personally, I’ve had good experiences with Pizza Coloseum restaurants in Prague. There are 6 of them in total and 1 in Brno and I know for sure that 3 of them have indoor play areas for kids. The one I am reviewing is right at the bottom of Wenceslas Square on Mustek upstairs in Koruna Palace. Easy by Metro - a nightmare by car. And of course, I went by car…...

For most Praguers, Stromovka is an obvious spot to spend a warm summers day or any day of leisure, no matter what the season. Now, if you’ve got kids and they need to burn off some energy and run, yell and scream out in the open air…..this is the place!

With the weather finally turning to summer the hunt begins for good swimming venues around town. Aquadream is a top spot but please be warned they do not allow children under 1 year into their pools despite having a paddling pool for younger ones! This is the only venue we’ve covered that does not allow little ones in. Unfortunately for one of our readers she found this out when visiting (see comments). Beside this disappointment, Darina’s experience back in winter was positive.

I woke up one day and thought that we have not covered any restaurants in Prague 4 for our readers yet. So, after searching through some very well hidden Czech links on the internet, I dug this one up. Michelsky Dvur Restaurant is part of the Sue Ryder Home and has a very nice and spacious Indoor Play area plus a slide outside in the garden. Having no clue about what Sue Ryder meant and with no time to find out the details, I just hit the road with the boys to find out what it was all about.

Guest Report by Rachel de Candole
There’s a great opportunity for children to ride and receive top quality instruction in English, Czech, Dutch, German, French or Spanish in the village of Trebichovice, not far from Kladno and only 15 minutes from Prague airport.

The UNESCO World Heritage listed Cesky Krumlov is a stunning, authentic medieval town that rolls down towards a tear drop bend in the Vltava River. Towering above the town and set into the cliff face is the second largest Castle in Czech Republic. Interesting little shops, restaurants and accommodation is bountiful and the region is renowned for it’s beautiful nature which you can easily experience on foot, canoe, horseback or bike. Our preferred method of exploration over summer is by canoe…

It’s taken me a while to write about the Boat trip that we took on the Vltava river in Prague on a beautiful Saturday last year. The truth is that I was confused as to where to begin as there are so many boating companies and time tables on offer. Now that the weather is so nice it would be a shame not to guide you through what’s available. So if you are in Prague, you really must do this with your kids. Its an unforgettable experience and its also romantic; so there is a chance that you may be kissed under the Charles Bridge. Now that would be worth it, right!

This is a well hidden playground right in the heart of Prague 5 and bordering with Prague 1, with close proximity to a tram line. You enter through large metal gates into a beautiful park with tremendously wonderful old oak trees. 50 metres in you will see the fenced, playground area to your right.
