This small but convenient mall sits within the Pruhonice-Cestlice shopping district off the D1 freeway to Brno. It’s secret is a very generous sized indoor playground in the foyer entrance. This play area is free to customers of Coffee Heaven and the baby store Anna and Viktorie.
I was very lucky and at the same time unlucky when I managed to find a new playground in Prague 1 right next to the river and 50 m away from our favourite Pizza place with kids play area Rugantino II. Since I am short sighted, I got all excited and strolled towards the playground with my double pram promising the boys a great afternoon.

If I can manage with a 52 kg double pram, swapping between trams and metro, then it’s possible that you can do it too. In general, the public transport in Prague is well organized and efficient. I have heard it’s the best organized public transport system in the whole world. And to be honest, I believe them…
The staff at Squashpark are very friendly and they can take reservations in English. If you’re interested they have many tournaments going on for non-professionals. Squash helped me get back into shape after 2 years of pregnancy. You can contact me if you are Interested in playing and we can go together. Every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:00 they provide babysitting for Trampoline Jumping Classes and Aerobics and you can use it to play squash as well, having your kid looked after. This is a perfect playground when you want to combine shopping and still take your baby out. It finds its self right next to big Shopping mall: Novy Smichov on Andel - big transportation knot. It took me half a year to discover it, although I had heard about it many times from other Prague 5 residents. Its very well hidden and on the first look you wouldn’t even think that there might be a beautiful hidden playground.
The area of most interest to families is the children’s swimming pool and playground. When you enter Zlute Lazne walk down the stairs and make a left turn along the road. Towards the end of this road there is the ticket office where you pay to enter.

Ok, so we’ve all been there, those baffling first few months when we don’t quite know how to handle our first newborn. My sister is currently experiencing this phase with her brand new baby boy and a kindly friend sent her the following visual advice. If you’re up for a bit of a laugh viewing some silly humour then click through and at the same time be aware that some people out there may find this very useful advice indeed.
Enjoy!
Right when I drove out form the garage the little devil on my shoulder was telling me to head to my beloved swimming place: Petynka swimming centre and not to risk trying a new swimming area. The little Angel on my other shoulder kindly reminded me of my role in finding new places for families visiting kidsinprague.com, so I eventually turned the wheel towards Radlice’s indoor and outdoor swimming complex in Prague 5.

Cafe Terapie is a lovely smoke-free health restaurant right opposite Na Vytoni Playground. I’ve always been very impressed by their range of fresh salads and very tasty meals. Unfortunately, when Lucie and I chose to visit them they were taking a short holiday break but I’ve been there enough times on my own to know that this is a real find.
