Pillarbox in Vinohrady has a stunning range far outclassing the products available in Prague and I was truly surprised at just how affordable these imported products are. Currently they offer a big range of Christmas cards and wrapping - so drop in and take a look!
Pillarbox is hard to miss, look for the colourful mural adorning the street frontage featuring a traditional pillarbox common to England. Owner Roisin has personally selected the range of cards and stock which really speak for themselves. The cards are imported from England and feature many well-known artists and card manufacturers such as Rachel Ellen, Woodmansterne, Tom Smith, One Green Bee, Alex Clark and Sue Fenlon
Also in stock is the popular handmade Czech stationary Papelote. There are also Jellycat toys and handmade jewellery, some of which are created by expat Louise Mastrenko who makes gorgeous beaded accessories.
Handy are the kids party invites themed for boys and girls - 8 cards and envelopes will cost you 118czk. Individual birthday cards are priced from 54czk and up are family specific (eg. Happy Birthday Mum, Dad, Grandma) or are blank. A range of gift bags hand printed in India, wrapping paper and ribbons means that you’ll find everything you could possibly need in order to create the perfect looking gift for your loved one.
Christmas is coming, school Christmas Markets, the IWAP Christmas Market and Prague’s Advent Markets will soon be open for business. Compliment your chosen gifts with Pillarbox’s Christmas themed gift bags (including bottle bags), wrapping paper and cards. Cards for mailing out to friends and family sell in packs from 60czk for 20 (Tom Smith mini cards), 82czk for 5 (Alex Clark), 122czk for 10 (Woodmansterne).
Single Christmas card are priced from 65czk. Christmas gift bags begin at 44czk and up and high quality Christmas sheet wrap by Glick are priced at 3 sheets for 90czk (usually 39czk per sheet). You can even purchase Advent calendars from 75czk.
Staff speak both Czech and English and helped me downstairs with my stroller, they were also very patient with my active toddler racing around underfoot!
