Family Brunches on Golf Yacht Hotel, Prague 8
This is a new venue in Prague where you can entertain yourselves and your kids with a Sunday Brunch. The next brunch will be on 25.10. so don’t miss it out. This one will be a special “Halloween Brunch” with Kids Costumes Competition and Jack’o Latern Cutting. The Golf Yacht is a luxury Hotel right on the Vltava river. There are babysitters and many activities for kids including Golf lessons with kid sized Golf clubs. Adults will enjoy several yummy courses and a bit of peace with their friends. It’s a shame that I didn’t know about this place earlier on. I went to check it out for our readers on a beautiful day and my chin dropped. The owners of the Golf Yacht have invested a lot in refurbishing this hotel on the river - or should I say Botel. I don’t like to use this word though - because the Golf Yacht could easily beat many hotels in Prague with its luxury and in my mind it does not resemble a Botel (which I imagine being a small wooden boat with one living room and one bedroom).
I met the owners personally and I was sorry to hear their story of how they invested in the best of everything and then…...the economic crisis hit. Actually, this is a story I keep hearing often within the hotel industry. As they had two little boys they came up with the idea of creating Family Brunches together as well as Birthday Celebrations for Kids.
I am not sure if it was the water surrounding us and the lack of traffic but I felt very relaxed on board and 3 hours went by easily. There is a special play area for kids where at least 2 babysitters are on duty. The sitters organised several activities for the kids, the most popular was cooking. The kids got to make their own pizza and loved it!! Apart from toys, drawing and the before mentioned cooking, there is a Golf simulator where kids can hit the ball towards the wall and see it fly away down a golf course.
They loved it. All the kids seemed to be happy as well as their parents. The Brunch table wasn’t big but it was constantly filled with fresh courses. Guests can also choose a main course from the Menu on the table. The Brunch is served from 11:30 to 14:30 and is thematically tuned.
For me it’s obvious where I will be taking my kids for St. Nicolas Day on December 6th. The Golf Yacht will organise a big party including a visit from St. Nicolas and the distribution of presents for kids. From my experience on board I rate the boat and the brunch highly and wish the owners of the Golf Yacht all the best. Just think about telling your child that you will be going on a boat!

I must mention a small downfall. The location. Don’t be discouraged, once you find it for the first time it will be easier to find the next time around. They had to locate the boat here in order to get permission for a permanent berth. It is right next to Libensky Bridge. It’s easy to get there by tram and car - it’s just the last bit of a road that’s a bit of a challenge and confusing.

DIRECTIONS:
BY CAR: I didnt find Libensky Island on my GPS, maybe you will be lucky? You have to get onto the Island right at the beginning of Libensky Bridge where all the Autobazars. It is a bit complicated, but there are many signs once you get to the place. If driving from the centre, go to the: Rohanske Nabrezi street.Keep on going straight. You will get to the light where to the right is a : U Rustonky street leading to Palmovka Prague district. Dont turn there - go straight to the street: Voctarska. There on the first light right next to the KAUFLAND turn left. After this take first right (you will already see the signs : Golf Yacht or Golf. Go under the bridge and turn left again toeards the river. Youwill have the Autobazars on your right and the Libesnky Bridge on you left. Once you will get to the river you will have no other possibility but to turn to the left again under the bridge. There you will already see the Golf Yacht.
If you miss this turn you can always go up the bridge and after 100 m there is a sight to the GOLF YACHT and you will take narrow drive down the hill from the bridge.
BY TRAM: Tram No: 1, 3, 25 to Tram Stop: Libensky Most Tram STOP. There you have to go to the staircase taking you down to the river bank. The staircase is closed on one side of the bridge - but it open on the side closer to the YACHT.
BY METRO: Yellow line B to the Metro stop: Palmovka from there one stop by tram to Libensky Most (bridge)

Hi Darina, We were at the Sunday Brunch and I have to say that it was very very disappointing. There were no games or competition for kids, no activities, in fact absolutely nothing special for the St. Valentine’s day. It is quite an effort to reach the place and it didn’t live up to the reputation nor the program invitation that was published by them. The brunch menu was very average and honestly, we were a group of 5 couples and 6 kids, and all of us were quite unimpressed by the event. In fact the place wore a deserted look. It could be that we went with great expectations especially since the program was so inviting and came away with an empty feeling. Just thought I should send an honest feed back.

Very disappointed with golf yacht. We were there for valentine’s day brunch and nothing was as promised. The buffet spread was minimal. There was only one babysitter and there weren’t any games for kids although it was advertised on the website. The television was on and that was the only entertainment for the kids other than a few miserable looking pencils. Horribly disappointing!
