Montessori Conference at Andilek Family Center, Prague 5
Increasing numbers of schools in the Czech Republic are employing Montessori principles in the classroom and often Montessori is the selling point of many schools both public and private. If you are interested in learning about Montessori as a parent or as a teacher or lecturer then a series of lectures, courses and seminars run by international professionals (in English) are running this June and July at Andelik Family Centre in Prague 5.
The family centre Andilek invites all parents, teachers, lecturers and childcarers to several events organized in cooperation with Association Montessori Internationale and Montessori CR during the period of June 26th until July 9th 2010 in Prague.
Mrs. Lilian Bryan, the Founder and Emeritus Director of Montessori Institute Atlanta and AMI Director of Training, will lecture at a full day conference Montessori - Natural Education of Tomorrow on June 26 from 9.30 till 3.30pm. She will also teach a 2 week Montessori Basic Knowledge Course for teachers, lecturers and parents from June 28 to July 9. In addition, there will be four evening seminars for parents. All lectures are held in English with translation to Czech if needed.
Prof. PhDr. Karel Rýdl, CsC., who is the top Czech specialist on the Education of Children, will also speak at the conference which is sponsored by the Czech Ministry of Education. At the conference two interesting movies: MARIA MONTESSORI – HER LIFE AND LEGACY (Davidson films) and MONTESSORI JOURNEY 1907-2007 will also be shown.
The four evening seminars for parents are as follows:
June 29: The developmental needs of the child from birth till 3. The home environment for the child from birth till 3.
July 1: The developmental needs of the child aged 3 to 6. The home environment for the child aged 3 to 6.
July 7: Freedom and limits in relation to children under 6.
July 8: Developmental strategies from birth to maturity.
