Somebody had a great idea to open this NEW, large Indoor Playground with babysitting for kids from 2 months!!!. It has replaced the Time Out Indoor playground at the Galerie Nove Butovice Shopping Mall. Slon in Czech means Elephant and Slonikov stands for Elephantville. This explains the theme of the playground and big elephant slide dominating it. It’s actually a restaurant/cafe with the play area divided by a fence. The food is good and the choice wide. Free Wi-Fi provided.

It is big enough to spend half the day there without getting bored. The Playground is adjusted for kids 0-12 years and is divided into 4 areas depending on difficulty. They do have regular kids shows, thus they have a stage as well. My boys were totally thrilled by the electric motorbikes and cars which they kept on riding in and out of the tunnel and all around the playground. Such a thing we have only ever experinced in Chodov Indoor Playground.

In the back there is a huge climbing frame with slides and a ball pool. If there was nothing else in Slonikov just this would be enough to unleash my demolition squad onto so I could eat my lunch in peace.

Kids pay a one time entrance fee for an unlimited stay and parents don’t pay at all. Fair enough. If you have a small baby with you, you might like to move close to the climbing frames with slides. There is a baby cot right next to the tables where you can comfortably put your small baby. This I haven’t seen anywhere in Indoor playgrounds around Prague. There are enough tables to rest on and eat. We were a bit suspicious about the food when we were ordering. You never know what their catering facilities and abilities are like in these Indoor Playgrounds - will you get warmed up Pizza or Ham and Cheese toast?

Actually, they get my full approval for all the meals we had. All together we have sampled 7 meals and all of them were yummy. I can recommend the Smoked Salmon or Chicken pocket filled with ham and blue cheese with American potatoes. Already the Menu is very friendly offering meals for Mommies and Daddies separately :-) Watch out , the Meals called Minutky are served form 15:00 till closing hours. There is alunch Menu every day - one Meal for Adults and the same for Kids in smaller portion. Kids daily lunch meal included: Main Dish+ Soup+limonade+toy. Kids Daily Menu costs 89 CZK. If you get a chance - change the fries for mashed potatoes. The fires get quite chewy.

Slonikov Indoor playground hosts regular dancing and aerobics classes for kids. They have a gym area for such purposes with mirrors and handles. I was impressed. They have just opened this section so some of the things are still being developed but I can see some serious potential there. I can imagine such gym could be rented out privately as well. And of course - they do organise Kids Birthday parties here too. I am tempted to organise Niki’s birthday there in January to try it out.

Since they present themselves as a Restaurant with an Indoor Playground they do sell alcoholic drinks and have a wide range. I thought this was so Czech, isnt it? Yet - it was refreshing to have a beer with my meal especially as I had a driver :-). This might be a winning combo for Daddies to take their kids here.

When you go you will get a chip card. This card with a number on it you present to the waiters and all your spending goes here - to one account. You will also be charged the entry fee for your kids as well as any meals and drinks. We were also given a special Elephant coin for each child. This coin equals 9czk. This one was free but you can purchase more. There is a shop within the Indoor Playground where Kids can spend their Elephant coins. With this one coin our kids could purchase a chocolate, lollipop or 8 pieces of Jellies.

BABYSITTING:
The longest stay for a child that they will allow is 4 hours. The minimum time for babysitting is 1 hour. If the 4 hour period is exceeded a special charge of 150czk will apply for every additional hour. The kids are babysat by experienced Nurses and if the capacity for Babysitting is filled up - your kids might be refused. According to the law one Nurse can babysit 2 kids up to 2 years at the same time or 5 kids 2 years and above.
Prices of babysitting:
Kids 02 months- 2 years: 100 Czk per 1. hour per child, every next 2. - 4. hours costs 90 Czk
Kids 2y - 4y:    80 Czk per 1. hour per child, every next 2. - 4. hours costs 70 Czk
Kids 4y and up: 60 Czk per 1. hour per child, every next 2. - 4. hours costs 50 Czk

BIRTHDAY PARTY:
Birthday Kid + 6 Kids….  (for more Kids price will be calculated individually)
Tygr package: Includes entry fee, decorated table, pancake by choice from Menu for each Kid, draft limo
Zirafa package: Includes entry fee, decorated table, birthday cake by choice fro the offer, present for the Birthday Kid, Salt Sticks, hot chocolatte
Slon package:  Includes entry fee, decorated table, Ice-cream desert with fruit, present for the Birthday Kid, popcorn, milk-shake

Eat Healty: Instead of birthday cake, Ice-cream desert and pancake you can order big vegetable plate and fruit bowl.

If you want to use the babysitting here you need to register your child, give their full address and phone. You will then take the chip card and the locker key to put your kids stuff in. In the case of someone else picking up your child later - you MUST inform the staff about this, remember that this person will need to have the locker key and the card that you were issued. If they don’t the staff might refuse to hand the child over.

MEMBERSHIP:
A discount system is offered for the ones who become members. To become a member you must pre-pay minimum 1 months entry and fill in a Membership form. The monthly membership costs 1.290 Czk - now. Form the beginning of Feb it will be 1.600 Czk and this price will stay. As a memebrr you will get:  1000czk for 10 sessions = 100czk for each session (one entry 130 Czk normally), lower fee for Babysitting: 70 Czk per hour (100 Czk normally), 10% disscount on Birthday Celebrations, 5% disscount on lunch, 10-50% disscount on weekly special activities.

I noticed the written information on the reception was in Russian as well and the name of the owner sounder Russian so the Russian community might have an extra bonus of getting service in Azbuka too. We did not make it this time to trampolines but I will not miss them next time we go. I should not forget to mention, upstairs there is a special resting room for babies, with baby cots, changing tables and toys. Simply perfect. In case your smallest one needs to sleep in peace - you can use this room as well as for over stimulated kids that needs a quiet moment. We do experience this need a lot with our Nikki and I exhaled with relief that they have this.
