Kids in Prague

Swimming pool at Hotel Intercontinental, Prague 1

Swimming Activities on 15 July 2008 by Darina

It has been quite some time since we have been members of the Fitness and Wellness club of the Hotel Intercontinental, in Prague 1. But since then I’ve recommended this place to at least 10 families who now go there regularly to swim with their babies.

They have 2 main parts: A fitness room with gym equipment and a room for holding aerobics classes and a swimming area. The fitness area is equipped with Technogym machines. The swimming pool itself, is not that big, but its big enough to do a few laps and definitely big enough to have fun with your kids.

It was the first place where we took Marcus swimming at the age of 5 months. He was thrilled. The water is semi-salty and always warm (around 27C). I was worried that Marcus would cry and annoy hotel guests but everything worked out fine, he did not cry and all the guests were just adorable towards him.

When he got a bit cold we just jumped into the jacuzzi that is right next to the pool to warm up. I could have sat there forever!

The membership is expensive which is why we stopped going there. If however, you get a chance to go there, it’s worth the visit and you will experience nice treatment and service.

If you don’t live in Prague and plan to visit then it’s worth it to stay at the hotel. It is THE hotel to stay at if you are after spa treatments. Treatments are individually tailor-made Spa & Beauty programs offering relaxing Thai, Swedish or Oriental massages – which are available in newly equipped massage rooms. They also give body & facial treatments, manicures, pedicures, cosmetic treatments and have a sauna, and a solarium.

My husband is going to be thrilled when he sees I put up his pictures. Sorry, these were the best we had.
