Wandering Dinosaurs Show, O2 Arena Prague
![]()
I have browsed the web to give you an idea of where to go with the kids in next few months. Since many events are advertised in Czech, let me help you with my difficult mother tongue. What I strongly recommend is the Dino Show. Produced by the BBC, we saw the advert for it on TV and WE ARE GOING!!! Click through to see footage from the show. Dates are 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 February.
The dinosaurs will walk the Earth again and you can be there!!!
This new show premieres in the Czech Republic and reveals the dinosaurs in their real size - one of the most breathtaking spectacles ever seen.
The show had its origins in Australia, where after years of planning it was first introduced in January 2007 in Sydney. As expected, it was a huge success, so a tour was quickly scheduled for the United States.
Wandering with Dinosaurs uses BBC television special effects to create a fun and information based show for all ages. The show also combines these elements with live performances. The program will treat the audience to 15 roaring dinosaurs who look exactly like they did the first time they appeared on Earth.

The show is based on the original BBC series, which was viewed by over 700 million viewers worldwide. The series was awarded six Emmy Awards and three BAFTA Awards. Since the beginning of the tour of America in July 2007, the dinosaurs managed to sell out many venues and beat several records seen by more than two million viewers. I even found a Blog about it: here http://blogs.ajc.com/inside-access/2009/09/26/photos-walking-with-dinosaurs-at-gwinnett-arena/

I looked into this for my dino-loving son but I believe the commentary will all be in Czech rather than in English so I didn’t book tickets. Do you think it will still be worthwhile for non-Czech speaking children?

Hi Sarah, well, I can check how much of a talking there will be. Yet again - how much will the child really remember? I mean - I am sure my boys will be mesmerized to remember anything about the Dinos. Whats the main catch about the show is walking, life-size Dinos.
That’s always a catch when living in foreign country. Like you cannot take kids to cinema pretty much to anything because all the Kids films are dabbed to Czech… :-( we discovered the hard way :-(
I can call there and try to find out how much of a talking will be there. Yet again - I would take boys even in foreign language so its pretty much up to you. All they will remember will be the Dinos and not what they eat or long they live. :-)
Hope it helped a bit.

Hi Sarah! We went to see the show several years ago in Sydney and it was truly amazing, especially if your kids like dinos! Naturally, the commentary was in English but to be honest, we were all so engrossed in the dinosaurs, that we did not pay that much attention to what was being said about them. If you can still get tickets to the show in Prague (I think that it will be very popular), then I would thoroughly recommend it!

Thanks for your comments. I will try and get tickets.

It is a pitty, my children are too young to go there, but I can really recommend you the Dinopark in Plzeň zoo garden (about an hour from Prague).
