All YVES ROCHER Salons around Prague have assumed a brand new look. The trademark light green signs have been replaced by a more natural, bottle-brush shade of green. Many salons have grown in size and increased their assortment of merchandise. One of these salons is Yves Rocher in Letnany, Prague 9, where you will also find the Czech Republic’s largest shopping complex.

The convenient operational hours and services including waxing, facials, manicures, massages and professional make-up application, remain the same.

I come here regularly because of the cleanliness of the salons, reasonable prices and uniform service standards given by all the staff. It does not matter whether I suddenly need to have some waxing done in Letnany or Wenceslas Square, this French chain always gives the same, consistent level of service and they are open for long hours, 7-days a week. It is always best to ring up and make a booking in advance.

Yves Rocher currently has 12 salons spread out over various locations in Prague but only 8 of these are equipped with cabins and offer this so-called “Beauty Services” (Kosmeticka Pece).The shop stocks a big range of its own brand of beauty and body care products including shampoos, soaps, scrubs, perfumes, creams, make-up and more. I am a sufferer of terribly dry hands and feet and have found their Arnica Day & Night Hand Creams quite good. Even better is the Lavender Foot Scrub and Lavender Cream for Dry Feet (organic from Provence). It smells beautiful and is pure heaven to my sandpaper heels each night! The Shower Gels are also fun to test out (at about 100 CZK for a 200ml bottle) some of the exotic flavours include Chinese Star Anise or Californian Almond.

One thing which is a bit of a shame, is that the salons do not really cater to English speakers. The labels on all of the products are all in French and English (like the Body Shop) but when it comes to the lists of treatments and promotional literature, it is all in Czech only. Some of the staff speak English, but this is the exception, rather than the rule. Don’t let that deter you . The staff are very friendly, and how much do you really need to say in order to get your legs waxed or enjoy a nice aromatherapy body massage?
